VS Round Brilliant cut Natural Diamonds and Platinum ring (real 95% platinum, not the cheap 30% platinum that is often falsely hallmarked 950). We designed this lovely split shoulder ring to enhance the proportions to the Tanzanite, even though it is already a nice size, it never hurts to make the pretties look bigger! As always with fussy eye this amazing gem clarity is exceptional clean, even with a hand lens.
2.37ct Natural Cushion cut Parti coloured Australian Sapphire. Superbly cut in Australia so this gorgeous Sapphire is incredibly clean. Amazing variation in the colours when viewed from different directions. (Stock Number 510390).
Yes, this gem has two distinctly different colours! A great example of expert cutting, this gem displays one of the interesting properties some gems have. Dichroism- different colours visible from different direction (axis of the crystal). In this gem we have blue (seen from the ends of the oval) and violet (seen on the sides of the oval). For lovers of the unusual, this perfectly cut gem is a real statement of nature’s beauty and abilities. Clarity in excellent, exceptionally clean, even under 10x hand lens. Some of the finest Rubies in history have a slight purple tinge, as this awesome spinel has, and such a good size for a center gem in a ring. They special cutting give that gorgeous red sparkle from any angle, of course some very high colour Diamonds would enhance and complement the special red perfectly.
Clarity – Exceptionally clean even under 10x handlens, No dangerous or insidious inclusion.
Fancy cut with Marquise and Round brilliant cut Natural Diamonds. All 18ct Real White gold means it never needs Rhodium plating (yes, only cheap white gold needs plating, real white gold is a silver colour throughout the entirety of the metal and doesn’t “revert to a yellow colour” or “warn up” as many “dodgy jewellers” claim).
A little different the Asterism of a star gem is very special, the rich red of this gem is not from and dye or filler! The star is nicely centred on the top, (not off to one side as is common), with a broader star that is better visible under the common diffused light, though not as concentrated under single bright spot light. Not glass filled.
Specially cut with so much life and sparkle. The slight greenish tinge of an unheated Tanzanite doesn’t show itself much due to the angle of the cutting, if you prefer the blue – purple colour in non-heated Tanzanite. Clarity in excellent, with a tiny pin point size inclusion just visible under 10x hand lens.
Gorgeously cut in Brisbane by a very special cutter. Trilliant cuts sadly on the most overlooked cuts, but they can have such an amazing sparkle. This Trilliant tourmaline is cut perfectly on the axis to show the blue, the amazing little secret of this Tourmaline is the amazing special purple “pin fires” when viewed under a red rich light! Extremely clean clarity, a very rare and unique pretty.
How awesome is this unique set of gems! I have often thought I should put these in a good size ring, maybe even with some wonderful hand engraving (you know the traditional engraving with a super bright polished finish in the engraving). I haven’t decided the order, though a “Q” for Queen next to a heart, and an “A” for Ace next to the Diamond shape, etc. But I would not break up the set, they are too good all together!
Clarity – Eye Clean, under 10x magnification 1 has a tiny tube and 1 has 3 tiny tubes and a small inclusion, No dangerous or insidious inclusion.
Superb cutting has brought out this gems deep bright Blue inner glow from all directions even in a dull lighting. The extra time and attention for a special cutting on the pavilion with extra facet rows, show why an expert cutter should be given free rein on gems of this size. Extremely clean even under 10x, extremely rare in gems of any size, especially of this size.
As a lapidarist, when not restricted by the bad trade practices to maximise profits, there are many things that can be done to maximise the brilliance of Gems. Lower R.I. Gems requiring a deeper cut (but not with the problematic straight deep sides), and with size of this 11mm Tanzanite, extra facets on the pavilion bring so much more life and sparkle, making this a gorgeous precious gem! Of course if this was commercially cut every nasty cutting trick or bad inclusion would have been left to at least get this to at least 7ct (probably much more). Also I chose this gem for its exceptional clarity as well the rich deep saturated colour.
